Personal Online Presence (Studio Brief 2)

Personal:

https://indiapenny.com
Aims:
- I waned to keep my website as slick and simple as possible, to match the aesthetic of my work.
- I've used no colour because I wanted to give my work breathing space/ make it stand out.
- Ive used a sanserif typeface because it is very clean and I think it suits my work the best (it is usually th sort of typeface I go for within my images).
- I tried putting all of my artwork on the home page but there was too much going on. This works better because the home screen gives a sense of my range of skills and adaptability. Then when you click through the description gives a better insight into each project and it show my ability to keep to a campaign aesthetic.

Future ambitions:
- I am worried that this layout is too generic as I recreated a square space layout on adobe portfolio. I'm not sure if this matters because it works really well alongside my work but I what to do everything I can to separate myself!
- I made the initial decision to not make a personal logo because I wanted the focus to be on my projects and I thought there was already enough colour. I also didn't think having one on my business card would work. However, I have changed my mind. I think that keeping my name in black but making it move could be interesting - maybe inspired by my plastic gun? - this would help my site to look less generic.

- Since posting my plastic waste campaign I have been in contact with some eco-accounts asking them to share my content to build a following. Illustrators having a following being a big bonus was definitely a hot topic at Hanbury, particularly amongst advertising agencies. This is something I need to work on !!
- I have found that having content with a social context is definitely working in my favor though because people are willing to share it for free if it supports their mission.
- I have been really struggling with posting on this account because I find it really exposing but I need to remember it is professional not personal. However, posting for the brad has really helped me to separate myself from my work and I just need to keep getting content out there. At the moment it is difficult because I am still posting old work, which I am less confident in but I am excited for when I get caught up !!

I'm not really sure what I think about linked in - at the moment I'm finding instagram a much more useful tool for connecting with other people and getting my work seen, particularly with the brand. However, I have started connecting with a few art directors from ad agencies that I love so I think it will be a really useful tool when I start sending my work off.
