Polly Nor’s (who I follow on instagram) application of colour is very different from Kugler’s but is also very interesting. She applies colour very flatly but adds a level of detail with a fine liner that gives a quirkiness and complexity to her imagery. I also love how bold she is with colour (lots of complementaries). It makes her artwork eye catching and playful. I would like to try to be much bolder with my use of colour. I also like that she really limits her pallet to flesh tones, red and a whole spectrum of greens, which work well to suggest depth.
